Savitri bai Phule Govt Girls Polytechnic started in the session of 2001-2002 with the primary aim of giving technical education to girls so that they stand shoulder to shoulder with the boys in this era of information and knowledge and make India a developed country.
The polytechnic is named after the first lady teacher of India “Savitri Bai Phule” who hailed from Maharashtra is another source of inspiration to the girls who study in this institution.
Technical education has a strong influence on many phases of nations’ progress, the material wealth, industrial development, and economic growth of a country are heavily dependent upon the efficiency and effectiveness of its system of technical education, which is responsible for the supply of necessary technical power. Savitri Bai Phule is situated 8 km from Railway station Saharanpur on Dehradun Road. It is surrounded by orchards, is in the lap of nature without any noise of air pollution with well-equipped laboratories.
